Kind of weird that of this and Harvest Wurm, the one you want to play first costs 1 more. I don't think they'd play a head-scratching bombo like this today.

Think about it this way: On turn 3 you play this and discard the land, on turn 4 you play Harvest Wurm and have the land to play if you already hadn't and two mana open.

It's like Hidden Horror, but with lands.
I think the appropriate set of plays for this guy is:
Forest, Mana Dork
Forest, Rogue Elephant, Harvest Wurm
Forest, Fallow Wurm
Bull Elephant?

This and Harvest Wurm being in the same set definitely isn't coincidence. It's still a cheap (and most importantly, splashable) 4/4. Potentially messing up your lands hurts, but it's still pretty good.

Indeed. Use this with his fellow wurm (hah!) Harvest Wurm.

Discarding a land isn't actually all that bad for a turn three 4/4. Its really quite good with cards like Knight of the Reliquary and Worm Harvest.
