It's a mini Thorn Elemental!

I like to call this ability "Piercing."

No reprint in Innistrad or Dark Ascension = I'm sad.

@justicarphaeton
Better than that — it used to be part of a Wolf Pack.

Because it is either a survivor or a brute, read the flavour.
Buff it up and damage the opponent right beside his progenitus, I like it.

This card is cool since unlike trample you don't even need to assign the combat damage to the creature ,but note its either all to the player or all to the creature.
it also wonder why its so lonely

The ability to assign damage directly to the player or planeswalker is incrediblyl powerful. I can understand why its not reprinted. But I really miss Green's direct combat damage. 4/5

One of my all time favorite cards. When I was about 10, I was borrowing someone's deck (it was one of those 100 card casual decks that just have every green card the person owns) and playing a quick 5 health game against the best person in my friend group.
I chumpblock him, losing all but my lone wolf in the process, and he puts down another 8/8, giving him about 30 power on the board. I draw and play my 6th land, allowing me to play tribal unity, giving my wolf 3 more power. Swing for the win, your blockers can't help you now.

Cards like this and Thorn Elemental are great responses against planeswalkers as they don't care about blockers.
