This is a good card. Back when I started playing and didn't understand the design space around sacrificing permanents, I just thought this guy would only give you mana if he chump blocked and died in combat. Now, I totally get the interaction between this, Skullclamp, Dross Scorpion, artifact lands, and the like. Gosh, Mirrodin, you were the most broken block and I shall love you for it forever.

Decaying soil, this, ashnods altar= infinite colorless mana, or Altar of dementia for inf-mill
