This with two Muscle Slivers and one Sinew Sliver out (from a deck of say, 4 of each of the latter, which would be completely feasible), makes you have one 5/5 trampler and three 4/4 tramplers in four turns with no mana acceleration in a casual sliver deck. I wouldn't exactly call this guy useless. I think he's one of the more useful slivers, allowing your growing slivers to actually do damage when attacking.

the issue is that for 1U you can get flying slivers (in most cases flying > trample, and the lower cmc makes up for the smaller body) or for 3U your slivers are completely unblockable (barring mirror matchups). This guy is kinda stuck in the middle.
There are only so many slots in your deck, and there are much better slivers than this one (gemhide, muscle, winged, necrotic, etc.). I guess if you want a sliver deck with 2 or so colors this guy is fine.

Actually not bad, I would rather pay 3 for that than pay 4. What's important is that it is a good size on it's own and it brings something relevant to the party. It's a cheap, easy to play sliver that picks up the rest of the army's bonuses, that's pretty good on it's own.

Useful with Brood Sliver. However, you'd probably be better off running Winged Sliver instead. Green already has a lot of good slivers, so it's hard to fit this guy into a green slot.

Not the best sliver. Really it just gives you Primal Rage. But its still a sliver never the less and, in a sliver deck, still quite strong. People poopoo the uncommon cycle of slivers, but their true ability is the fact they are both 2/2 and slivers, meaning they can squish other slivers from the tempest block. This is mostly only notable in limited or block formats, however.

The wonderful thing about slivers
is slivers are wonderful things
their bodies are made out of sinew
they've got muscles on top of their wings
they're hasted, trample, shroud, and shadow
plus one
plus one
plus one
but the most wonderful thing about slivers is
there...
is more than one!
post this on all sliver cards :)

It's easier just to make the suckers unblockable.
