Pretty boss in cleric/prevention decks, but there are a few better choices.

IIRC this was one of the first times a legendary creature was given a creature type in the rules text.

@jfre81: Nope, one was earler: Zuberi, Golden Feather. And I was surprised to find out there were only 9.

Based on her importance on the block's storyline, and that of being legendary, I think she deserved some better effects, like preventing at least 5 damage, or all damge from one or more sources along with giving protection from one or more colors etc.

MaRo confirms: This creature was named after him. "Maro" backwards with one exchanged letter.

Context is everything. A fatal Lightning Blast would be almost completely neutralized, and Orim herself could be really tough to kill if she used her ability on herself, either as a blocker or to soak up damage. She could safely block Balduvian Horde, and with an Instill Energy, could prevent 6 damage a turn. While still susceptible to non-damage removal spells, this was far from a useless creature.
