Borborygmos Enraged has given this a non-landfall related use, and for that, I love this card.

Patron of the moon + amulet of vigor mean infinite landfall. Add in your flavor of choice (mine is hedron crab) and go to town.

I wouldn't say it's strictly better because this card has a nice home in EDH where board wipes and land destruction are rampant. In this case the colorless is a plus because it can be run in any EDH deck.

I'm surprised this card doesn't get many comments about its EDH potential.
