Not strictly better than Fiery Hellhound at all, that trades haste for +1/+1. Pyre Charger is generally better because running too many non-red sources is not a good idea with firebreathers, but he still costs RR, compared to this only needing one red mana.
Still not a good card, though it could be a useful top deck late game to quickly charge in either for decent damage or taking out a blocker.

Pretty weak even with built-in firebreathing. Strictly for limited. Haste doesn't work too well for this thing, since you'll probably want to hold off on attacking with this until you have all your mana ready.

The sad thing is that you can get a ball Lightning for basically the same thing, and he'll probably last just as long.
