Very good 2-mana counterspell without restrictions on what it can counter. Just like another popular counterspell... which I beleave was named Counterspell. Exept this counterspell isn't considered too strong for today's Magic.

Sometimes I like to play this even with opponent having three or more mana available just to make them use it, to make them unable to cast something else. It's probably better than the out-of-print "name brand" Counterspell in the early going of the game, and can better be used in decks that only splash blue. Good to see it back in the core set and I hope it stays for 2012.

Propaganda and the other enchantmens and creatures of the like, love this counter. If it doesn't get countered, they're probably not attacking that turn.

The first incarnation of a classic counter! So good, so splashable... Because of this, I can forgive the Wizards for not reprint Counterspell anymore... At its time, full of classic counterspell and alternative powerful choises, this may have been understimated, but it's plain and simple along with effective! I can play it without feeling a cheater, like with Counterspell...

This card is very powerful and well-loved now. It is funny, though, since when it was printed, there was practically outcry at how poor it was! Keep in mind that the poor card had to compete with the likes of Counterspell, Memory Lapse, Forbid and Dismiss, though. Nowadays, it's the best we have. Funny, isn't it?

Any card that makes me and the opponent make intellectual decisions is more fun than Counterspell in y opinion.
