@Slack
Except that you would still lose whatever card was in the ante. And if you try to concede in response to a Darkpact taking your card, then you're still losing your card.

4 Darkpact, 56 swamps. Time to grab some cards.

A friend of mine sported a mono black Alpha/Beta deck and he was the bane of the play group. Why? Because he played with 4x Darkpact. He ended up with many Moxen and Loti and he didn't even have to win the game. Luckily, he was a good sport and would trade the chase rares back for something else he wanted and he did not overcharge. Evil card.

I'll tap 3 swamps and now I own your Mox. Good thing Magic cards will never be worth anything. Let's rip up a Chaos Orb just for fun.

Obviously only useful in a ante format, not useful at all...

god how i hate ante cards...of course it's not suitable for tournaments, yet disliked in casual play either.

Your friend was playing with Morons. The Ante Rules back then stated you could concede at ANY time and NOT lose your card. If they didn't concede then screw them.

This card is a recipe for some intense situations.

@ Kirbster,
For 1 game maybe, after which you find yourself with some alone time.
