This card is great, if you got enough mana for it it's basically a free counterspell, and then you can use some more of your instants in the same turn!

THis card is one of many reasons my group banned my counterspell deck. Acctually, looking back.... They only ever banned my deck's... what jerks!

Welcome to the craziness of Urza's block. One of the most fun blocks ever IMO, but we have a great example of the awesomeness here. A highly costed counterspell that pays for itself is amazing. Sure, it's unusable early on and is horrible if countered itself, but has the potential of allowing you to hold responses and still counter, which is awesome. It can even untap lands with shroud effects or other players lands if needed, which is just great.

Its funny how blue has enough broken cards to literally MAKE MANA while counterspelling. Or at the very least break even. And not just with mana drain.
