Such an improvement over Pyrotechnics. A perfect example of how to do a utility spell that's slightly over the curve but not unfairly so.

I agree with both of you, the fact that this card more often than not = +1 card advantage makes it totally playable.

Urza's Saga was increadible, even commons like this were pretty good.

I totally agree with stygimoloch. Quite good but not unbalanced. I'm always happy when I draw this card, it's never useless and often a 2 for 1.

It's good, but it's a sorcery

Decent sweeper, although for 4 damage I wouldn't mind paying 1 more colourless. Pyrotechnics is good in multi-colour decks without good creature handling, and even in mono red it's worthwhile if you run Ruby Medallion's. AL has the mana advantage though so it's my preferred choice.

Now Arc Trail is much better, as the 2-1 split is probably the most common mode. The one mana difference is huge, as is usual for a burn spell.

This was a staple in all my early burn decks, and anything else that had red. Don't let the fact that it's a Sorcery fool you; in duels, this card can sweep a board all by it's lonesome. It's also great as a post-combat fatty killer. Not to be underestimated, and in the hands of a master, devastating.
