Second ability is entirely useless in an all-Spike deck, but you'll wish every spike had it if you mix spikes with graft or other counterful creatures.

Love the art, and how useful it makes Vigean Hydropon. Not quite as efficient as SImic Guild Mage at that task, but I think it's cooler.

Spike Soldier is a soldier, yet Spike Rogue isn't a rogue? That's weird...

This needs a card with undying, an infinite mana loop and some sac outlets

Shouldn't this have creature type - Rogue?

I suspect he's not creature type Rogue because he's not a "rogue" in the sense that he is sneaky or evasive, like other rogues (like Inkfathom Infiltrator or Looter Il-Kor.)
This guy is a rogue in a different sense: he's a rogue against his own species. Unlike other spikes, he can actually steal counters away from his own kind. So he's a rogue in the same sense as Rogue Elephant, which also didn't get the creature type.
