Portal was simplified. Didnt have Sacrifice. Great card. I'd say needs to come back to Core Set, but we've had such great variations on this mechanic recently. Look at that original art too!

Seems that if they change a card in printing, they keep the oracle text to match the latest printing rather than going back to original intent. See also Flying Carpet.

According to the original Portal Wording, this was actually not a Sorcery-speed Diabolic Edict.
It used to be untargeted (yet common) destruction, while this card's post-9th Edition wording is about targeted sacrificing.

@GainsBanding: Check Kjeldoran Frostbeast. It's Oracle wording is what is printed and vice versa. Funny thing is that the rulings are done based on the original printed text and not the actual Oracled text. Compare to 4th edition Thicket Basilisk.
