I like it, but shouldn't it be "if this creature doesn't attack"? That would make more sense.

Actually, this would make more sense as a disable... The flavor of wanderlust is that the creature just wanders off in some random direction to explore the surroundings. Why it would suddenly deal damage to the creature's controller I don't understand - having the creature unable to attack or block would make more sense, as the creature has probably wandered away from the battlefield.

Underpowered, but green is not really the color of direct damage or "curse" enchantments.
I think the flavor represents the caster having to spend life to keep the creature under control, but that is pushing it.
