When this guy hit the table in a green/red deck, we used to run for cover because of the berserk following him soon after.

Those were the days, when a Shivan Dragon was truly something to behold.

I wouldn't say that he's not awe inspiring even today. We had our answers then (Royal Assassin, Swords to Plowshares, Terror, Disintegrate etc.) and we have our answers now (Doom Blade, Assassinate, Celestial Purge etc.), but can we find them in time was and is the question.

A powerhouse for its era, still decent today, and a defining icon of the game. Better dragons may come and go, but this guy is the original.

Moltensteel Dragon takes this and runs with it which is rather frightening considering how good the original can be.

Absolutely iconic. After nearly 20 years, I still win games with Mr. Shivan. All other Dragons are knock-offs. The original and STILL the best all-around Dragon in the game. Balanced power, correctly costed, great original art, classic flavor text, and devastating if unblocked...and yes I still run four of these in my Dragon deck!
