Back in the day, my playgroup was really bad. We thought the Scaled Wurm from Ice Age was rare because it was so damn big, and if you put four of these into a deck you were hated because your deck was "broken."
Four of these is 20 damage! Thats ALL YOUR LIFE!

This card teaches that '1 mana = 1 damage' is about right in the middle of the curve for red, any less is a bad card, any more is a good one. Lightning Bolt unfortunately destroys this lesson, by making greedy Spike n00bs think '1 mana = 3 damage and any less is a bad card', which if it were true would warp the game faster than the existence of Goku warped power level judgement in DBZ-
remember when being 'OVER NINE THOUSAND' was a big deal? a few dozen episodes later, and 10 MILLION was considered 'meh- you might be worth my time'. Here's hoping that doesn't happen to Magic.

However you look at it, if you pull it off you hit them for 1/4 there life. Its splashable so it can go any deck if you wanted it too.
