@sarroth: Nah, it won't kill him. He strikes first.

This guy needs vigilance of some sort to really shine. Perhaps a nice fat Mammoth Umbra would do the trick...

Appearing as an uncommon in an M12 near you.

Shame it costs five and not six. You could just get all the dragon stuff out from your graveyards, making him 8/8 flying, trample, first strike, haste, dragon breath, vigilance, fear. Dragon wings is uneeded for this.

Enchant it with lifelink and it's better than baneslayer angel.

@Master_of_Evocation: Trample on a 5/5 flier may or may not be better than protection in most instances. At least a pumped Dragon Whelp can't kill Baneslayer, but it'll kill this guy.
I say enchant him with Diplomatic Immunity to give him shroud, or if you don't think your opponent can take care of enchantments, then Zephid's Embrace to give him shroud and +2/+2 (and flying, but with his ability that's obviously redundant). I'd enjoy a 7/7, flying, trampling, first striker with shroud.

Cool flavor text on this printing - I really like the idea of a 'race' that must get beaten up or be rendered immobile by their own ever-growing armor. Might add it to a game I make sometime.

@ mirrodin_Pure LOL!
This guy is just dying to be in a white creature enchantment deck; the flavor has some strange white feel to it.
Anyways, great card. Great versatility, in the sense that it fits into any combination of colors (unlike some artifacts that are more color specific, or even require other artifacts to function.) This card will grab your opponent's attention pretty quickly, so it's likely to eat removal for some of your other creatures. especially great with cheap enchantments like firebreathing, dark favor, or divine favor.
On a side note, how does this creature conceptually even fly?
