Curses! I got a huge box of old Magic cards for free, and not a single Storm Crow was in it! Not to mention the fact that the box also contained exactly zero basic land cards.
If this card is imprinted on a Mirror Golem, does the golem get protection from pure awesome?

OK, I originally asked what was with all the storm crow jokes, but since no one wants to tell me, I'll try to figure it out:
Theory 1: It's so BAD like Wood Elemental or Chimney Imp that it deserves sarcastic levels of mockery.
Analysis: While typical mockery sometimes does mention Chimney Imp in the same vein as this, it's clearly NOT as bad as that. In limited, it isn't a bad two-drop.
Theory 2: There's something inherently comedic about the creature type, art, or flavor text.
Analysis: Doesn't seem to hold up. There are plenty of cards that use rhyme/poetry in their flavor text. Bird is a pretty common creature type in {u} and {w} especially. The 9th edition art actually looks kind of nice -- like something someone might paint while spending a day at the lake.
Theory 3: Someone started mocking it for whatever reason way back when and everyone since then just decided to go along with it and never wondered why.... (see all)

Rumour has it that WOTC wanted to print a "Form of the Storm Crow" enchantment, but playtesters deemed it as insanely powerful and incoherent flavorwise. Planeswalkers becoming an overgodly being would be UberPowered and blasphemy.

A half rating just because there are better two drops. it's a decent flyer with a barely usable creature type in today's standard. there are much better cards out there.
