Sac a Perilous Myr for a little better effect. 7 damage to one creature, or 5 to one creature and 2 to another, or 5 to a creature and 2 to a player.

I see "As an additional cost, sacrifice a creature" and think "Cast this when a creature you control is about to die anyway." That way, it looks like a cheap but situational card instead of straight-up card disadvantage. Still, it's not going in any of my decks any time soon.
