"Here, I got you some Magic cards!"
"...why is this box full of Mountains?"
"No reason."

"has" more lands? How did that wording make it into ninth edition

@DarthParallax:
You mean Scrubland, not Karakas.

Also remember that it's Plains, not basics. So unlike Land Tax, you can fetch Shocklands and such.

Land Tax is also Banned in Legacy. I agree that this is more likely to get pulled off and ontop of that, it spells card advantage.. 1 for 3, sounds good to me.

To mdakw576: I disagree with you. Land Tax is good, sure, but it's awfully vulnerable to removal. With this, you're more likely to pull it off. Also, Gift of Estates, unlike Land Tax, doesn't need to be cast during the upkeep, making way for some combo elements that Land Tax would never be able to pull off.

Karakas, Sacred Foundry, Godless Shrine, Temple Garden, Hallowed Fountain, Plateau, Savannah, Tundra. If you picked something else, you're wrong.

While not better or worse than Land Tax, it is much easier to activate most of the time.
