Wouldn't a Tangle Asp with Lure be a cheaper way to kill a blocking Progenitus?
Anyhow, I enjoy combining Excruciator with Fog in casual games. My damage is dealt, yours isn't!

This is actually a pretty big body for 8 mana in red, by old standards, at least. Though red has more aggressively costed dragons that get the job done better nowadays.

They should keyword its ability or something, and use it on more cards. I'd love to see it more, it's short and to the point, but very effective and flavorful for its color.

Although it's a bit overcosted I want to play him along with Surestrike Trident, Holy Day, Soul's Fire and Heart of Light.

Love the name, love the art, love the flavor text, hate the card. Sucks they would make everything about this card amazing except the actual card.

It should read "Damage that would be dealt by Excruciator can't be prevented... except by any of your opponents puny chump blockers because this creature has no evasion."
Sorry, but this is a "meh" rare. 3/5

I like the art of the card...except how his other arm looks like (the regular arm). It looks...awkward...BUT anyways, PAINFUL ability! Progenitus, BEWARE!!
