At least it can transmute into Ancestral Recall...

Transmute may well be my favorite mechanic.

What do they need to do to make the shrink effect viable? Because I LIKE it, in theory anyway.

I think this card really shines against low-powered deathtouch creatures.
You: "Yeah, I'll double-block your Vampire Nighthawk to kill it but, uh... it doesn't kill anything or gain you any life..."
Opponent: "..."
A very circumstantial card in some cases, but with the added transmute... this is a winner!
4/5

Indeed, transmute is what makes this card one of the only playable cards with shrink effect.

Every spell with transmute is good for being an affordable tutor alone. You don't need this humble effect? Get Path to Exile, Spell Snare or whatnot instead.

This card is the all-star in my Quest for Ula's Temple deck. It can grab the quest, ponder, Feldon's cane, clockspinning, brainstorm, and lantern of insight with no problem at all!

Thank you, Dizzy Spell, for finding my Serra Ascendant in my Numot, the Devastator EDH. Oh, and thank you Ranger of Eos for doing a slightly better job.
