It's a shame this is in red, a colour that is known for emptying its hand out quickly. To use Bulwark effectively, you'll be left sitting with a hand full of burn spells that could do much more damage if you actually played them.

Triggers at the beginning of your upkeep-at the same time as Squee. Since you own both effects, stack them so any copies of Squee in your GY get returned first. By the time you can cast this, you should probably have at least two bulking out your hand size for Bulwark.

Hm, perhaps with Reliquary Tower/Spellbook and Barrel Down Sokenzan ...and definitely some walls for the flavor.
The card would obviously make more sense if it could hit creatures also.

I have an odd obsession with cards that let you draw in mass amounts. Yawgmoth's Bargain and Necropotence just got a whole lot better.

I built a U/R deck around this. Big mistake, now it's an Izzet deck.

The opposite of Dark Suspicions, in many ways.
DS triggers on the opponent's upkeep, and works in multiplayer. Its also cheaper, and easier to abuse...
I figure they could reprint this today at about 3cmc and it would be reasonably good. If it was blue 4 cmc would be satisfactory

@MisterMelancholy
I really don't think they needed the help. Look up "The Black Summer."

i've always needed a reason to splash red into my mono blue draw deck
i often have 20 cards in hand....mid game, so this could get real mean real quick
obviously not tourney worthy, but could be fun in the right...hand (buh dun dun)
