Lightning Bolt, Dark Ritual and Ancestral Recall were all too good. Healing Salve ended up being underpowered. Of all the boons, however, only Giant Growth ended up being just right.

Doesn't need to change, there's a place for it in every core set as is. Including 2011. Just confermed.

amazing how little it has changed since the very first set. almost verbatim. amazing that it has been in every core set. The only other card to have that honor is giant spider.

That block of stuff is impressive, but I don't really understand what you're trying to say with it, especially when it comes to the Llorwyn cards.

I'm going to comment on Every Card in Gatherer this week :)
This card is awesome because of all the Boons, it is the absolute best for being reprinted, since it has good Limited play. Wizards will design things in the future that are better than this card, but I don't think they ever plan on OBSOLETing it. They may make 2 mana +5/+5's in the far future, but I think we are always going to be able to cast Giant Growth in Standard.
I think a good distinction to make between True Power Creep and ...Power Penduluming....is 'will there ever be a day when we no longer use Giant Growths?' That day will be the day Magic is Fully Power Creeped.
