I was all for an updated Siege, but this just is horrible. His burn ability doesn't even make sense now. In the original, he had a catapult on his back and the Goblin had spiked-helmets to show how they where being used. Now it just implies that they're doing a suicide attack for the 2 damage. Which is neither cool or funny sounding like the original. Hell a huge Goblin throwing skinny Goblin's with spiked-helmets like they where spears would have been better.

Other then that, he's awesome like the original.

He's the commander for a reason. 3 tokens plus some burn. If you played Goblin King and Goblin Warchief all ready this dude could mean certain victory.

Man this guy (among others) is why Goblin Lackey is so powerful. Think about having this guy out turn two and able to use his ability.

The image on this card doesn't have the comic appeal of the original, sure, but it's just as good for different reasons. It's technically accomplished with a high level of detail and excellent use of contrast. It's much more serious than the original and that's good and bad. These goblins are nuckin' futs: they're going to tear your balls AND die trying.

Imagine them in a showdown with Mass of Ghouls :)

Spectacular card, in mechanic and art. I have seen this card in play a lot recently (mostly red-white decks) and the potential that it can deliver is intense. The art doesn't exactly match the flavor that goblins typically have (being crazy, violent, and at the same time kinda funny), but the art itself is still good.

I actually like the art.
The other one feels a little too cartoon-y.
Where it fits the silliness of goblins fairly well,
This one most represents their savage side,
And looks comparable to Goblin Chieftain and other such art.
And a fairly nice bomb for goblin decks, to be sure.

Infernox is spot-on. When I know I'm going to loose, and just want to it with style, I bring out my Cartoon Goblins deck featuring 10x Steamflogger Boss (currently it does nothing, so my playgroup decided what the hell and House Rules Errata'd it to have Relentless Rats' abilities too) and other sillies like that.

When I want to say 'The Age of Man is over, the Time of the Orc has come', then I bring out Siege-Gang Commander, Goblin Chieftain, Promo Goblin Piledriver, (you'll need magiccards.info or StarCityGames to show you what he SHOULD look like), and From the Vault's Goblin Cheater. Different art for different purposes. This is actually what I think new art should be used for- not to *replace* previous art, but to let your cards fit into different decks.

Usually, the changes are from 'Block Theme' to 'Core Awesome', but sometimes the art doesn't change the setting so much as the feeling/... (see all)
