Tezzeret is one of the more interesting planeswalkers; certainly, he has the most narrow focus of any of the currently-printed walkers, and properly supported he's arguably the most useful.

+1: Untap up to two artifacts.
Amazing. This is THE reason to play him. Staying Standard legal, this allows him to manage a pair of Master Transmuters. In addition, a standard legal artifact deck is probably using Obelisk of Esper or Fieldmist Borderpost, so you can play him for essentially 2, just like Garruk. Going outside of Standard, things like Grim Monolith or (if you're playing straight Vintage) Time Vault are simply appalling with this ability.

-X: Search your library for an artifact with converted mana cost equal or less than X and put it into play.
Again, a very powerful ability. It weakens Tezz greatly, but pulling out a Master Transmuter, autocard... (see all)

The thing that needs to be seen here, is that while people are saying Tezzeret is a good card, but only for Artifacts, or that Tezzeret is bad, except for Artifacts, the whole point of Tezzeret is to make your artifact decks BROKEN. Sure, he does nothing on his own, but then, why should he? He's a supporter, as all Planeswalkers really should be. He doesn't do well on his own, or in most decks, granted, but he's not meant for most decks. He is MEANT FOR ARTIFACTS.

I have seen him run for turn three with Time Vault. Numerous times. Consistently. Sure, he can't blaze a creature, mill for twenty cards, destroy lands, or summon your opponents' dead creatures, but he does help your arti-lands blast through multiple Savannah Lions and Serra Avengers. Indeed, he's a utility card...and a very good one at that.

Ah, yes, Arkive, but it's not reusable, unless you're using huge-cost cards that could easily be avoided with 2, maybe 3 mana. And even then, it's more reliable to use the Key, since T... (see all)

Anything that lets you untap artifacts makes me shudder a little internally. *wants four Grim Monolith*

In the new Mirrodin Besieged, we get another new Tezz named Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. With even more artifact enhancing abilities, and all at only 4 cmc. (2 colorless, 1 blue, 1 black)

Not only is the art awesome, but Tezzeret is a great card! I'm lookin at the last ability for my Esper/ Arcbound deck. Considering that they're 5/5 plus the counters on them would almost definately be game......

This may be the only Planeswalker to see a banning. In type 1 he is insanely broken. Stax does not need more ways to get its Trinspheres and Smokestacks into play. Ohh and lets not forget Tanglewire.
