Among other things that everyone else as already pointed out-- this can quite profitably be enchanted by Equinox without losing mana. Something few lands can claim. :)

This combined with Rishadan Port is so disgustingly good for control purposes. Plus legacy is littered with Crucible of Worlds and Wasteland so you can mess up someone's strategies early game with a crap-ton of money and little setup. But isn't that Legacy for ya?

This has got to be one of the Top Most Broken Cards of all time. It is essentially a rishadan port against the cradle, only it doesn't require an extra mana, nor does it tap itself.
You can just imagine how broken it is against all other lands.
What makes me really mad are the other cards it works well with though. Stuff like the previously mentioned Rishadan Port and maze of ith and wasteland and strip mine. And of being associated with that wasn't enough, this thing is supposedly located on tolaria. We all know how that accademy turned out.
Anyways yea. This card is easily the most annoying card in the world.

For those wondering why this card costs so much:
There was 121 rares in legends. This means that each individual rare shows up once every 121 packs. In a modern set, the rarest mythic rare shows up once every 120 packs. Even if you ignore how old Legends is, and how few packs were sold, this card is rarer, just on a per pack basis, than any card printed in any set other than legends.

Another card that was worth only $20 for almost 8 years then went up to $30 then $40 and then I come back to Magic years later and it's selling for $200 plus on Ebay, glad those 7 copies I have just collected dust in a box instead of getting sold off with everything else.
