I could see why they'd avoid it in EDH, gaining 10 life and doing 2 to everyone, can sometimes make them mad, even gaining some higher life amounts, its probably better to avoid hurting everyone
Then again, it may be small enough to avoid detection, just don't play 4 in a row.

Great in combo with Furnace of Rath or similar, otherwise use Blood Tithe.

This card says "each other player" rather than "each opponent". That means it will damage your allies as well as your opponents. Using it might make you unpopular with both teams.
