A great card, especially with Innistrad in the mix and Grim Lavamancer. My favorite time with her, though, was when I had a Sphinx of Magosi with my opponent at 12 and a Vengeful Pharaoh in the graveyard. I used a Distortion Strike on my looter, so he had to kill it and put the Pharaoh on top of his library, then swung in the next two turns with my Sphinx for the win

In the 2 casting cost range the Looter is solid and adds a great addition to the accelerate or add to graveyard play. Usually in a competent deck the Looter is not your only means to achieve acceleration or graveyard play, but it is a great secondary play that reinforces such deck themes. Most will agree that its annoying to use spells to get rid of the Looter when there’s most likely worse cards in an opponent’s deck. Of course feel free to boost-up your Merfolk or protect in some way. Loved the change in art; Merfolk cards in general sure did have some vague or murky artwork, lol.

"my weakest point was usually dead cards in my hand, then this little merfolk came along and my problems were solved." -Tivoko
A-men. I love this card. Works perfectly in a self-mill deck to feed a Splinterfright or Boneyard Wurm.

Fond of memories of this card since this was the engine to my combo deck back in the day. I would use the ability to dump auras like Dragon Breath into the graveyard to lie in wait for a fatty to drop, using the discard "drawback" to fuel my deck. Even if you don't have a deck that utilizes the discard aspect, you are still filtering your hand, getting rid of a card you don't need and increasing your chance of getting one you do need.

All around good card for blue, also a good fuel source in a madness deck.
