Even before the days of Crucible, this got itself put on the 1-per list by providing too many cheap troublemakers when included with Blight and Sinkhole.

So, 4th was supposed to be strongly depowered versus Revised (which was strongly depowered vs. ABU).
And then they toss this in, one of the most awesome cards ever made...

One of my all time favourite cards, and given a second wind thanks to Entomb paired with Crucible of Worlds. No quarter stopping power - nuff said.

Zuran Orb+Crucible of Worlds+Fastbond+Grazing Gladeheart+Strip Mine= HAPPINESS!! HAHA!! Not only can you run you opponents decks DRY of ANYTHING they have, you can steadily kill them with an Antelope!! HAHA!! unless you have some removal spells, or Unsummons just in case they have some big creature blocking your way.

This card + Fastbond + Crucible of Worlds = destroy all Lands someone has in play all at once. If you worry about losing from that one damage Fastbond gives, sac an Island over and over too, and gain life.

What would make Legacy better...
Legalize this in the format. Ban Crucible Of Worlds for being an abusive engine. Ban Blight and Ghost Quarter for being bad. Legacy as it is now for blue mages is : Play a fetch land. Sacrifice for an Island to cast Daze if they have a Wasteland. Stall for the beginning of the game with Standstill. Strip Mine would fix the format from decks that STALL. Strip Mine is -needed- in Legacy. Badly. There is a large number of very noble cards on teh Legacy banned list. Gush, Black Vise, Balance, Strip Mine. Why the hell do they unban Grim Monolith and TImespiral ? The format is full of the worst offenders and yet cards at common and uncommon rarity which need engines to be broken are banned? Are the people in charge of Legacy smoking crack? And yes I'm a... (see all)

+1 on everything Hovercraft said! Decks today are so fast that they can kill you on turn 1 or 2 and we all need strip mine back! just as we needed lightning bolt back and still needing counterspell back. we need early game breakers like these to level the competition!
