Whenever I look at this card's art it makes me think is was going to be an enchantment instead of a creature. The art just focuses on that whip.

Play it in a blue-green deck. Have it hit the game as early as possible, and then counter or bounce anything your opponent might want to do against the Dryad. It will grow and grow. :)

About 9 years ago, this creature was the key win condition of the most powerful pre-2002 rotation Extended deck of it's Day; Miracle Gro (a pun on the popular plant federalizer). Those days are long gone and this card as faded into the oblivion of nearly unplayable creature cards. It's still a good creature to add to a 5-color EDH deck. But in modern Legacy; Gro just doesn't cut it these days (I see it played once in a blue moon, but it never does that well against a quality archetype Legacy deck). If I ever see the creature played and/or get counters I always heckle "Gro Dryad Gro!".

It's hard to believe that this wonky, defenseless, evasionless, relatively low-powered card was one of the most important cards in the set.

My friends used to hate me when I put an Armadillo Cloak on her.
