Was seen as good until Bolt came back into play. Still a decent card.

This is why I hate lightning bolt. Lightning bolt has set a stupidly high standard for red burn in the future, that (in my opinion), still hasn't been matched.
3 dmg for 1 cmc is freakishly generous for removal, especially for removal with versatility. Compare this to all other 1 cmc removals from ALL other colors, and you find that it's very hard to find one that is consistently useful.
Compare to Essence Drain Sorin's Thirst, Unsummon, Prey Upon etc etc etc.
Lightning Bolt is too much!
