Even without the Phyrexian mana option, this would be a decent card. With the ability to play this in a nonblack deck, for one mana? It's a GREAT card, and I'm glad it got a reprint.

As far as black goes, better removal spells exist. This card's versatility is what makes it an all-star. 4/5

This is absolutely prime removal. Four life to take down, say, a 6/5? Totally worth it. If your life is only 3 though you can still play it safe.

What I think is funny about this card is that there are so many cards out there that can survive being dismembered.
"What do you mean that Terastodon is destroying my creatures? I ripped his legs off 2 turns ago!"
