Take me down to the Paradise City where the trees are green and the birds are pretty.

I have 6th ed, M12 and this version, and this is my absolute favorite art out of all of them. Best part was how I got it, I traded a Garruk Relentless for a Snapcaster AND this! Best day in a while, 18 bucks for 30ish.

One of the best 1 drops for decks using more than one color. L. Elves is prob better for mono green decks.

My preferred art. The majesty of the recent art makes it feel like it's something greater than it is, but this version feels more humble, and I like that.

Everyone loves the Birds. They're wonderful mana boosting and a classic card. However, I can't understand why, at the time of this comment, 9 people have rated this card 5/5, and no one has gone any lower. It's a wonderful card, but come on. For most situations either Llanowar Elves or Noble Hierarch are significantly better. The only time a deck should use them is if it needs cmc1 mana boosting for black or red, or if it needs more than 4 cmc 1 boosters. Also, this is the version with relatively bland artwork. 4/5

Dear Wizards,
I require you to reprint this in a core set, with this art. In return, I will enjoy my rainforest themed decks all the more, in that they will have a modern, black-bordered birds of paradise that isn't flying around an effing cityscape.

The awkward moment when you realise the bird was not in 9th Edition.
