It that Betrays makes their losses your gains. This card is so good it's ridiculous. Combinations are plentiful. Zuran Orb = life for you and total loss for an opponent. Ridiculously easy to abuse.

Of course, what makes this card ridiculous is its two mana cost. With that, you can play it basically whenever it would benefit you. It definitely deserves a 4.5/5.
I would almost want to splash white into a Madness / Hellbent deck just so that I could combo this with One With Nothing.
Also, a Barren Glory-based deck could benefit from this, since it won't have many permanents out anyway.

Its an uber card alright, easily abused... maybe. Sacking your land with zurans for 2 life a pop is kinda stupid imho, unless you have board control, but if you had control u wouldnt need to balance, so... Awsome in a Barren Glory deck for sure, with Glory, Claws of Gix and any of Ravs double land, you balance and thats pretty much game, short of the Glorys most feared adversary, Disenchant.

Back in my day, we just used this with artifact mana and destroyed people's lives with it. Now you kids with your fancy "combos" and "cards that are good" will never know the simple joys of casting Balance off two Mox Pearls! ::cough, cough::

Today I've made my first 11-for-1: my opponent discarded 3 cards and sacrificed 4 lands and 4 creatures, with no loss on my side. And I was topdecking. Thank you Balance.
