I loved her in one of my first (fairly) competetive decks - a white weenie/armageddon control deck. Having her in my opening hand made the life of my opponents pretty miserable. All in all, a very tidy design and great art.

life gain is bad?! Martyr of Sands would like a word with you. When you're gaining 20+ life before your next turn in a multiplayer free for all game, you realize how very not bad the warden is.

Great artwork; great effect; great combo potential; great one-drop.
All around great.

I would argue that life gain is only useful in 1v1. In multiplayer if you have twice as much life as anyone else you just make yourself target #1.

Soul's Attendant from Rise of the Eldrazi is almost exactly the same, except the life gain is optional.

I used to underestimate this card, but it has great synergy with Zur's Weirding or Enduring Renewal, among other cards. What about creatures that phase out and in?
