needs to be removed fast, or else it not only prevents activated abilities that require tapping to be used more than once, but since a creature taps when it attacks, barring vigilance, a smart player will kill a creature that is attacking before damage is dealt. Can easily clear the field within turns of being played.

Man this thing trolls so much in my Thraximundar EDH deck. I once had a guy waste a Fireball to kill it, with 5 mana open, while I had a 7/4 out beating face, just because he wanted to use his general and was too impatient to wait 2 turns. Once he finally attacked with his general I had already topdecked removal. 5/5, couldn't make this guy any better.
