I like the new art so much better than the old art. I think the old one reminded me too much of a parot. Plus the original art wasn't even suppouse to focus on the bird.

@achilleselbow: Yeah, there was some degree of player voting on which cards went into 8th edition, and one of the face-offs was Llanowar Elves vs. Birds of Paradise. The birds won, but when 9th edition rolled around, R&D decided to stick with the Elves (being more iconic), but put the birds in Ravnica because they're so popular.

Best pals with Unsummon, because even though they lost Core Set Survivor because of Ninth Edition, they still got cool new art from a multi-coloured block reprint.
